How My Cat Inspires My Drawings!
We have a female cat named "Micio." She was a stray cat we saw around town two years ago, and she often followed us when we took walks. Then we decided to take her home. She is a wild, independent cat with a lovely look. At first, she didn't know how to be close to us, every time we wanted to hug or cuddle her, she would try to escape or give us her paw. But she's a very special cat because she always wants to take a walk with us. She just follows us, and we don't need to hold/bind her. She's like a bodyguard, always trying to protect us. Maybe that's how she shows her love. After almost two years, she has become more willing to be cuddled and even wants to play ball with us every day to get our attention. We fell in love with her immediately when she came to our home. She's like our second daughter and a sister to my daughter. (Like all sisters, my daughter often teases her.)Before Micio came into our lives, I seldom drew cats, like all cat-loving illustrators, I started to draw cats. In 2022, I wrote and illustrated a

The Drawing Process of “Wallcreeper Bird”
Recently I am drawing several kinds of birds, that's an art challenge #birbfest2023 on instagram. I knew nothing about the birds, so by this challenge I could take a chance to know some of them. Here let me show you how I drew this bird - wallcreeper. As usual, I did a research on Pinterest, Wallcreeper is a very beautiful bird, for me it looks kind like a butterfly, with the red spot on the black feathers. I did some sketches of wallcreepers with different postures. Then I preferred to draw one flying with wings spread open.SOME SKETCH PRACTICE WITH MARKERSTHE FINAL SKETCH WITH WINGS SPREAD OPENI was thinking how to draw these beautiful wings, then I decided to use Indian Black Ink on the acetate paper. The acetate paper is transparent, so I could just put on my sketch and trace it and draw it directly on the acetate paper. Recently I like to draw on the acetate paper with ink, it does make a nice texture, and it's easy to do the scratch effect using some pointed objects. Then I scanned the acetate paper into Photoshop, and used an image of a red textured paper I had
My Drawing Process of “Cats and Topiaries”
Like the last post that I mentioned, I participated an art challenge on Instagram for the first week of the year 2023, the prompts are all about cats and flowers. I am late for some prompts, but I will take my time finish 7 of them. Let's see how I work on this one.First, I did some research on Pinterest, to navigate some images about cats and topiaries, then it came to me the idea to draw like this, here is my sketch below. There are many simple and regular shapes in this sketch, so I decided to use stamp. Below you can see the shapes I cut and the inks I used to stamp.SKETCHTHE SHAPES AND INKSI stamped on paper using the shapes and a roller on which I applied ink colours. You can see the stamped result below, then I use color pencils to add some shadows and details.AFTER STAMP ON THE PAPERADDED SOME DETAILS WITH COLOR PENCILSTo do a test, I used Pan Pastel to enhance the contrast (specially the light part), Pan Pastel is a kind of soft pastel, like the makeup applying on the face, so smooth and it did make some difference.

About The Hedgehog Spinoso
Spinoso is a shy lovely, friendly hedgehog. He is the protagonist of my studio. It's a real hedgehog puppet I found in a highway store about 11 years ago, I liked it immediately when I saw it and bought it right away, and I named it Spinoso which means prickly in Italian. The first time I drew it was for my boyfriend's birthday, then I made it as a greeting card, Some years later, I drew different versions of Spinoso for greeting cards, and they are my first products of studio.Spinoso is not just a sign of my studio but it also represents the soul and spirit of my studio. For now there are 3 greeting cards and a sticker sheet of Spinoso on my shop here https://margothuang.site/product-tag/spinoso/Hope you like this article and Spinoso series products.
